Mark Power M.A., CCC-SP BCS-F is a speech pathologist who has specialized in treating people who stutter for the past 25 years. He is recognized as a Board Certified Specialist in Fluency by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and has served on its Task Force for Fluency Services in the Public Schools. He was trained in the MPI Stuttering Treatment program by Dr. Roger Ingham at the University of California, Santa Barbara in June 2014. Mark was once a severe stutterer himself for 35 years and is dedicated to providing effective stuttering treatment to all people who stutter. I am a speech and language therapist currently working in the fields of stroke, stammering, and voice. I have experience in delivering therapy for clients with conditions such as dysphagia, aphasia, dyspraxia, dysarthria, voice disorders, as well as a range of other communication difficulties. I am trained in Palin Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and the Lidcombe Program, amongst other approaches. As a person who stammers, I know first hand the importance of effective, personalised therapy. I have been involved with communication charities, such as Deafblind UK and the British Stammering Association, and have a particular interest in stammering, aphasia, and the role of new technologies in therapy. In 2015 I was the recipient of the Travers Reid Award for new research into stammering.
